WyoTF is partnering with the Sheridan College Theater Department to expose students to the world of theater outside of our home state of Wyoming. This helps mitigate the challenges theater students in our relatively isolated region face as they strive to understand today’s theater and to begin to carve out careers in the field.
At WyoTF, students interact with theater professionals to develop meaningful projects which are on track for production in the professional theater world. Nothing forges friendship like the crucible of new play development, and these professional associations are invaluable to students as they establish themselves after graduation.
In addition, working with professionals expands students’ understanding of what the theater is and what it is like to work in that world.
Have you ever wondered what it is like to create theater in a festival setting? Stick around after the evening showings of Another Roll of the Dice, The Resolute, and Hollywood, Nebraska for a chat with the cast, crew, and/or other festival folks. This is an opportunity to ask questions while they are fresh in your mind and to process what has just been experienced by yourself and others. In addition, this is an opportunity to share your thoughts about the show, something which is important to the development process of any new play. Through The Sheridan Press’s Talkback Series, festival audiences play a direct role in shaping the theater of tomorrow. Talkback sessions will be held in the Mars Theater, immediately following the evening performances.

Let’s Hear It!
A new day calls for a new play! Once a play has gone through a few drafts, it needs to be heard in order to be improved. At Let’s Hear It!, you are invited to hear readings of plays which have been vetted by the WyoTF selection committee and are being considered for development during our next season. This allows WyoTF to make informed decisions when selecting plays and provides for an awesome audience experience. Participants who are brave enough may even find themselves reading one of the parts in this event.
Come back to school as you interact with theater experts in a variety of workshops, lectures, and discussions designed to illuminate and entertain. Come explore playwriting with playwrights, directing with directors, acting with actors, tech with technicians, and theater with thespians.
